This morning, the Municipal Hall of Ullastret hosted the presentation ceremony of "Hola! Visit Empordanet", the new joint tourism promotion campaign of five municipalities of Empordanet - La Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret.
The Mayor of Ullastret, Miquel Gatius, welcomed the attendees on behalf of the five municipalities that are part of the Strategic Plan for local economic development. Gatius explained that the campaign has been possible, on the one hand, thanks to the capacity for consensus and the will to gather efforts of five city councils to achieve a common objective of economic dynamization, understood as a single territorial area and, on the other hand, the will and effort of the companies of the territory to offer activities aimed at the tourist throughout the year to contribute to the seasonalization of tourism in the summer. Gatius has stated that the campaign proposes activities that allow visitors to discover the landscape, towns, gastronomy and artisan trades in the territory they travel by sharing privileged moments with their local population.
With a smile and a "Hola!", Anna Pijuan, has begun the presentation of the tourism campaign that this year presents the tourist destination through a more emotional account, centered on people and his experiences. The campaign aims to be a reflection of the commitment to a responsible tourism model that generates respect among tourists and the local population and that it contributes to the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage and the business fabric of the destination.
One of the communication elements of the campaign is a multilingual guide, with the collaboration of ambassadors such as Elena Paschinger, Austrian journalist and Creative Tourism travel blogger Creativelena and Carles Sanjosé, architect and musician of la Bisbal d'Empordà. While Elena explains her trip and presents the hosts who hosted her and the activities she did, Carles propose a route to discover the landscape and towns around La Bisbal d'Empordà, his hometown. Finally, the guide lists restaurants that offer products of proximity with ceramics dishes of La Bisbal and DO Empordà wine and tourist accommodation establishments committed to the responsible tourism model.
More than 40 establishments that have joined the campaign, between accommodations, restaurants and companies that offer activities related to tourism. These companies are identified with a sticker in a visible place at the entrance of their establishment.
During the ceremony, the premiere of the new YouTube channel of Visit Empordanet has been announced. The first video is that of the campaign, which has the collaboration of journalist Roger de Gràcia and actress Agnès Busquets. Throughout the year, different videos will be uploaded in which the local population as well as tourists will be presented performing the activities included in the guide. In addition to the web www.visitempordanet.com, the campaign will be dynamized through social networks.
The closing of the event was given by the manager of the Costa Brava Tourist Board, Mr. Ramon Ramos, who has celebrated the focus of the campaign that places names and faces on the territory because people are a key element in a tourist destination and has congratulated the good work that is being done from the local administrations together with the private company. Ramos has completed his intervention supporting this initiative that helps to seasonalize tourism during the summer months and at the same time, it increases the quality of our visitors, which contributes, among others, to the increase of GDP in the territory.
This action is part of the strategic plan for local economic development that includes the municipalities of Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret. The Strategic Plan, funded by the Public Employment Service within the framework of the Programs for support to local development, contemplates different strategic lines of action in order to increase the employment opportunities and business development offered by the territory through joint action and coordinated between the municipalities that make it up. One of its lines of work is tourism.
